For some travel destinations, you can just pick up a language and be good friends with the locals. It’s more effort-intensive and it’s not recommended for the beginner. To be able to pick up different languages you have to really want to know them. If you just pick up Filipino Spanish, you won’t get the same feedback. It’s like when you are not really good with the language of the place you are visiting. You might notice the differences, but it won’t feel like you are really learning the language. You need to really want to understand and be able to understand.
